Zembatu, a new band featuring raising stars of the London jazz scene; Oneke Tebbs (Alto/Flute), Sheila Maurice-Grey (Trumpet), Nubya Garcia (Tenor), Rosie Turton (Trombone), Jj Stillwell (Bass), Femi Koleoso (Drums), and Shirley Tetteh (Guitar). Influenced by Art Blakey’s Jazz Messangers, Wanye Shorter, Dexter Gordon and many more great jazz musicians; they are bringing a hardbop/African vibe to a unique four frontline lineup.

Zembatu is led by Oneke Tebbs, a saxophonist, flautist, composer and arranger, who was born and bred in London. Currently part of the Tomorrow’s Warriors development program; taking the role of lead saxophone in TWYJO (Tomorrow’s Warriors Youth Jazz Orchestra), and a former member of Tomorrow’s Warriors Biggish Band of whom won the ‘Yamaha Jazz Experience 2010 competition’.
